Fender introduced Charcoal Frost Metallic nitro lacquer in 1965. Like many other Fender colors of that era Charcoal Frost was initially used in the automotive industries and can be found on mid '60's Lincoln Continentals Ford Thunderbirds.
As Charcoal Frost Metallic Nitro ages it becomes slightly gray/greenish, If you're after that aged color but don't want to wait that long you can create this aged color by spraying a coat of Vintage Amber over the Charcoal Frost Metallic nitro.
