Finish cracking is quite common in old nitro finishes on vintage guitars. The cracking of the finish is commoinly caused by changes in temperature combined with a decreased elasticity of the lacquer.
Subtle finish cracking can also be achieved by applying this Nitro Relic Gloss Lacquer. This lacquer has been specially developed for this purpose. Subtile finish cracking will occur a few days after applying the nitro relic gloss lacquer. It is important that nitro relic gloss lacquer is applied last in your finish schedule.
