Many classic Fender colors are based on colors used on famous car brands in the 50's and 60's. Fender's Fiesta Red is based on the '56 Ford Thunderbird. Fiesta Red was first used by Fender in 1960-1969 and has a more orange tone than Dakota Red. Hank B. Marvin's iconic Fiesta Red strat is great example of this color.
